United States
- In the US an estimated 22 million adults are the victims of parental alienating behaviours
- Of these, 6.7% of the parents had children who were moderately to severely alienated, which is at least 1.3% of the U.S. population of children, which means nearly 4 million moderately to severely alienated children. And that doesn’t include mild alienation where there’s some rejection but still a positive relationship with the parent, but it’s being resisted by the child. And it doesn’t include siblings because the study only asked about one child in the family.
